The NYC office of Colliers International decided to acquire 3D models of Manhattan, Brooklyn and the New Jersey Waterfront for more flexibility in the production of marketing material and market visualization.
The office buildings needed to be labeled individually, so they could be easily found within the model with a simple search and find entry. Additionally, selected buildings needed to feature all floors, and furthermore the floors had to be easily divisible into spaces to show occupancy/vacancy.
horiapopa first created a series of maps using the NY State Plane projection in order to produce the base layers in the 3D environment, including land features, water bodies, green zones and bridges. The models were then populated with 3D buildings, using different resources and techniques, and cross-referenced in order to achieve the desired architectural accuracy and level of detail.
After the 3D models were complete, we proceeded to split the required buildings into individual floors, for future manipulation by the Colliers staff.
Throughout the project we discussed the client’s requirements and desired features. Upon presenting the models at different stages, we received valuable feedback and were able to deliver a product that met all specifications.
horiapopa also provided staff training sessions, ensuring that once they received the models the Colliers team members were able to use them at full potential.
